The Name
TARA AYARH LUNE. Three words from three languages, each chosen for what it carries.
Tara — from Sanskrit, meaning star. Not the star as a distant object, but the star as a fixed point of navigation. The thing you orient by.
Ayarh — from Arabic, meaning light that moves. Not static illumination but kinetic light — the kind that shifts with the angle, that changes as you move through a room.
Lune — from French, meaning moon. The moon as a presence that doesn't announce itself. It doesn't compete with the sun. It simply is, and its light is its own.
Together: a star, moving light, and the moon. A woman who knows where she's going, who moves through the world with intention, and whose presence doesn't require explanation.
The Problem We Saw
Fine jewelry has always been sold as aspiration — as something you earn, something that signals arrival, something that tells the room you've made it. The marketing language is consistent across brands: luxury, prestige, investment, legacy.
We found this framing exhausting. Not because aspiration is wrong, but because it assumes the wearer hasn't already arrived. It positions jewelry as proof of something rather than as an expression of something.
The women we were designing for didn't need proof. They had already done the work. They had already built the thing, raised the person, made the decision, survived the year. What they needed was jewelry that reflected that — not jewelry that promised it.
Why Moissanite
The choice of moissanite was not a compromise. It was a conclusion.
Moissanite was first discovered in 1893 by Henri Moissan in a meteor crater in Arizona. He initially believed he had found diamonds. He hadn't — he had found something with a higher refractive index (2.65–2.69 vs diamond's 2.42), greater fire (dispersion of 0.104 vs diamond's 0.044), and nearly identical hardness (9.25 vs diamond's 10 on the Mohs scale).
In other words: more brilliance, more fire, and essentially the same durability — at a fraction of the price.
The price difference is not a quality difference. It is a market difference. Diamond pricing is controlled by supply restriction and marketing investment that has been running for nearly a century. Moissanite pricing reflects what the stone actually costs to produce.
We chose moissanite because it is the better optical performer. We chose it because it is lab-grown and conflict-free. And we chose it because it allows us to put a 2-carat stone in a setting that a woman can actually afford to wear every day, rather than a stone she keeps in a safe.
The Design Philosophy
Every piece in the TARA AYARH LUNE collection is designed around a single question: what does this look like in motion?
Jewelry is not worn in a display case. It is worn on a body that moves — through a meeting, across a room, in a photograph, under a restaurant's lighting. The pieces that work are the ones that perform in all of those contexts, not just under a jeweler's loupe.
This is why we prioritize cut quality above all other variables. A well-cut moissanite in a simple solitaire setting will outperform a poorly-cut stone in an elaborate setting every time. The cut determines how light enters the stone, how it moves through the facets, and how it exits. Everything else is secondary.
Our stones are cut to Triple Excellent (3EX) standards: excellent cut, excellent polish, excellent symmetry. This is the highest cut grade available. It is not a marketing claim — it is a measurable specification that determines optical performance.

The TARA AYARH LUNE collection is organized around the body's natural points of presence:
- The finger — engagement rings, statement rings, and stacking bands in round brilliant, pear, oval, cushion, emerald, and radiant cuts.
- The ear — stud earrings in classic and colored moissanite, from 4mm to 10mm, in prong and bezel settings.
- The neck — pendant necklaces and tennis chains, from delicate solitaires to architectural statement pieces.
- The wrist — tennis bracelets and stacking pieces, from the 3mm Sovereign Oracle to the 10.19g Grand Vault.
Each category has a buyer's guide — a complete, honest document that explains every decision you need to make before purchasing. We wrote these guides because we believe an informed customer makes a better purchase, and a better purchase creates a longer relationship.
The Standard
Every piece shipped from TARA AYARH LUNE is inspected before it leaves. This is not a marketing statement. It is a process: each piece is examined for stone security, prong integrity, clasp function, and surface finish before packaging.
We use sterling silver and 14K gold for our settings. We do not use plated base metals. The metal you receive is the metal we describe.
Our stones are lab-grown, conflict-free, and cut to specification. We do not sell treated stones or stones with undisclosed enhancements.
